TRANSTHORACIC ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY  (ETT)

Transthoracic echocardiography (ETT) also called echocardiography or cardiac ultrasound is a medical imaging technique based on the use of ultrasound, using a probe placed on the chest, to visualize and analyze the morphology, movements, pressures and dimensions of the different structures of the heart, its valves, and the surrounding vessels.

Cardiac ultrasound does not show the coronary arteries, but it can show indirect signs of tight stenosis or occlusion of these arteries.

ETT is essential for a detailed cardiac evaluation.
