SUPRA-AORTIC DUS

A supra-aortic vessels Doppler ultrasound is a medical imaging procedure used to assess blood flow in the arteries above the aorta in the neck.

The doctor uses an ultrasound probe to produce real-time images of the carotid and vertebral arteries.

These images allow doctors to detect any narrowing or blockage of the arteries, which can be a sign of vascular diseases such as atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) or blood clots. Supra-aortic trunk Doppler ultrasound is non-invasive, which means it doesn't require incisions or the introduction of instruments into your body, and it's usually quick and painless.

This is an important procedure for assessing the health of your blood vessels and identifying any potential problems that could be affecting blood flow to your brain.
