COROSCANNER
A coronary CT scan, also known as a coronary CT scan or coronary computed tomography (CT) scan, is a medical imaging procedure used to evaluate the coronary arteries of the heart, which requires the injection of an iodinated contrast medium.
During a coroscanner, you will lie on a table that slides into a scanner, which looks like a large ring. The device will take a series of quick X-rays of your chest while you remain still. These images will then be processed by a computer to create detailed images of your coronary arteries (arteries that supply blood to the heart).
This allows doctors to detect any narrowing, birth anomalies, abnormal pathways, or blockages in the coronary arteries, which may indicate coronary artery disease or an increased risk of heart attack.
The coroCT scan is non-invasive, which means that it does not require incisions or the introduction of instruments into your body, and it is usually quick and painless.
