CONSULTATION
A cardiology consultation may vary according to the patient's specific needs, but here's a general outline of what you can expect during such a consultation:
• Registration with the secretariat, creation of the patient file.
• Electrocardiogram.
• Interrogation and clinical examination: this may include measuring your blood pressure and pulse, and auscultating your heart with a stethoscope. The doctor may also examine other parts of your body for signs of cardiovascular problems.
• Additional tests: depending on your symptoms and your personal or family medical history, the doctor may prescribe additional tests such as blood tests (to assess cholesterol and blood sugar levels, etc.), echocardiography to visualize the structure and function of the heart, or other specific tests.
